Still going?
A Top Ten Nomad Question, Answered.
This October marks my third year of nomadic travel, and I canāt believe that Iām still at it. I honestly thought I would last 6 to 12 months. But here I am, soon entering my fourth year, and I donāt think Iām ready to quit just yet. I have a few ideas kicking around in my head for how to transition to the next phase, but for now, Iām still enjoying the freedom that nomad life offers. Thereās really no reason for me to stop.
That said, I made some choices this year that made it easier to keep going: I revisited places I had been before, I stayed longer than a month, and I added a second suitcase. That last choice is my dirty little secret that Iāve been carrying (literally) for a while now. And nope, Iām not changing the name of my blog. š
Iāve struggled with my āextra baggageā for the last three years, and I finally decided to cut myself some slack and allow myself the luxury of two bags. I have a love-hate relationship with my luggage, which is a topic for another blog - stay tuned!
If youāve been following me on Instagram, you know I spent a few months in Pacific Grove, and now Iām wrapping up two months in San Luis Obispo. I wrote blogs about both places in 2023, so you can check those out if youāre interested in the area. But also reach out if youāre planning a visit to the Central Coast. This year, Iāve discovered even more to do and see in this beautiful region, which is often overlooked.
After two months of being settled in SLO, Iām now heading into a very nomadic fall and winter. Iāll be on the move a bit more, spending time with friends and family, and making plans for 2026. Year four is calling, and Iām all in (extra baggage included)!
